PARADES

Weymouth Memorial Day Parade – After a week of steady rain we were blessed with a warm sunny morning to join with Weymouth United Lodge in a memorial service in Jackson Square followed by a march up Broad St and down Middle St to Town Hall. The crowds were enthusiastic and our participating Commandery Parade Contingent displayed the manual od swords as well as appropriate sword salutes at standing flags and houses of worship along the route.

Hingham Fourth of July Parade -Please consider joining us to march or ride with the Old Colony Lodge float. Last year was a great day and lots of fun. Sir Knight Stephen D. Whitmore has assured us that “It’s the shortest parade route on the South Shore, all down hill and all in the shade!”  Details at the Conclave June 19th.

NED BEAN - A HERO FOR KIDS WITH CANCER - Our own Ned Bean, past Master of Macedonian Lodge, Officer at South Shore Commandery #15 of Knights Templar, St. Stephens and Pentalpha Royal Arch Chapters, Temple Council of Royal and Select Master Masons and member of many other Masonic organizations has always had time to help others. This Friday, April 19th Ned will be have his locks shaved off in support of the battle against children’s cancer. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Ned and many others at Milton Academy would truly appreciate all sponsors to their cause. The link is  http://www.stbaldricks.org/events/mypage/7916/2013

UPDATE  - Ned did it! After a delay due to the Boston Marathon Bombing and Campus Security concerns all being resolved, they rescheduled this fund raising event and all pledged locks were collected. The students at Milton Academy loaded a slideshow with rights reserved and subsequently all photos are non downloadable. Therefore we’ve attached a link to their Flickr account for all Ned’s Brothers, Companions and fellow Sir Knights to see him in the chair and under the buzzer.   http://www.flickr.com/photos/miltonacademyphotos/8672266135/in/set-72157633302873087   Please remember to forward all pledges in a timely fashion.
